Seventy five years ago, in 1930, three Holy Child Sisters, two European and one American, landed in Calabar in Southeast Nigeria. They brought with them not only a missionary spirit but Cornelia Connelly’s educational philosophy of reverence for each individual. What began as the establishment of bush schools by three women in Southeastern Nigeria has grown to a presence in Chad, Ghana and Nigeria, where Sisters work in a variety of educational, pastoral, healthcare and agricultural settings.
