Opening Liturgy: The Bicentennial Celebration for Cornelia Connelly (Philadelphia, PA)
On January 15, 2009 the Society of the Holy Child will mark the 200th Anniversary of the birth of their foundress, the Venerable Cornelia Connelly. This yearlong celebration, in honor of Cornelia's legacy, mission, and action, will begin with a 2 p.m. Mass at St. Agatha–St. James Church. A reception at the Hall of Flags on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania will follow.
St. Agatha-St. James Church has special significance to the Society: The Holy Child Sisters taught at St. Agatha’s from 1891 to 1912, and at St. James from 1870 to 1967. In addition, the Church is located across the street from St. Leonard’s Academy, which Cornelia purchased on her only visit as a Sister of the Holy Child to the U.S. For more information, visit www.holychild200.org. |

The Intercongregational Associate Directors: Day of Reflection (Meadowbrook, PA)
Associates, companions, and clergy are welcome to come and find reasons to hope for, the faith to believe in, and the love to help bring about such transformative communities for the sake of our world that God so loves. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Holy Redeemer Provincialate. Chestnut Hill College's, Catherine T. Nerney, SSJ, Ph.D. will be the guest speaker. After 15 years of providing quality legal services to victims of human and civil rights violations, it's time to celebrate the success of Casa Cornelia Law Center,
