Since the Society was founded in 1846, education has always been at the heart of our mission. The educational philosophy of our foundress, Cornelia Connelly, was quite controversial during her lifetime in the 1800s. However, today it is widely accepted and continues to form the foundation of all Holy Child Schools.
Rosemont College
A key component of the Holy Child Mission is to respond to the changing needs in our world. So it makes sense that just a year after the 19th Amendment passed, which gave women the right to vote, the sisters founded Rosemont College to educate young women.
Holy Child Network of Schools
The sisters have founded 10 elementary and secondary schools that form the Holy Child Network of Schools. The schools in the Network educate over 3,500 young people every year.
Collaborative Educational Ministries
Working in partnership with other religious congregations and nonprofit organizations, the sisters have opened four new schools. These schools are located in inner city communities where there is a significant need for rigorous education.
