American Province - Society of the Holy Child Jesus

Inspired by Cornelia Connelly, the foundress of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, Associates are men and women who deepen their spirituality through personal prayer, reflection, spiritual development, ministry, and community. The SHCJ Associates are inspired by the life of Cornelia Connelly and seek to grow in her spirit by broadening, affirming, and sharing in the mission of the Society.

Unlike sisters, Associates are not vowed members of the order. They maintain their independent lifestyles and participate in Associate and Society activities as interest, time, and geography allow.

Why I Am An SHCJ Associate

When I feel I have lost my way toward God, Cornelia's writings and example never fail to redirect me toward a more grace-filled, loving, and generous life. I am deeply gratified for the SHCJ Associates — which offers a forum where I, as a lay person, can share these experiences and learn from others as they, too, experience a relationship with Cornelia.
