Our Commitments
Cornelia Connelly, foundress of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, called us to respond to “the wants of the age” with courage and generosity. Gathered together in chapter, we have identified particular “wants of this age” to address together.

From the 2003 American Province Chapter Commitments:

• We will respond to the crisis facing our planet, a ‘want of the age’ which cannot be denied.

• We will become more interiorly free of biases, hurts, and prejudices that are blocking our responses of inclusive love so as to be reconcilers wherever we are.

From the 2004 General Chapter Commitments:

• We will work with others to promote a sustainable, just, and peaceful world.

• We will use the Earth Charter and similar documents as resources for education, reflection, and action.

• We will work with local, national, and global organizations, both individually and corporately, to address the crying needs of our world.
