History was made in Holy Child College Asa, Otukpo Benue State Nigeria on Saturday the 24th of September 2022, as our prestigious College rolled out the drums to celebrate the “ORIGINALS” set of 2022 Graduands.

This beautiful event of the Maiden Graduation of the “Originals” set of 2022 of your daughters in Holy Child College Asa took place in the newly completed Multi-purpose Hall. It was a great occasion indeed as our ladies were sent forth into the world to influence their generation and our world positively with the great Legacy of Cornelia Connelly’s Philosophy of Education that was impacted on them. The event was graced with the presence of Many SHCJs, Parents of the Graduands as well as other Parents of our Students, Priests and Religious were also in attendance, family members, traditional rulers, Educators from other Secondary Schools and Tertiary institutions and other well wishers were there.

We were privileged to have the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences (FUHSO) Otada Benue state Professor A.O.Ujah, who is also the President of the Medical Association of Nigeria as the Commencement Speaker at this Epoch-making event.

It was a very colorful celebration and one of its kind.

Furthermore, HCC Asa also unveiled the Maiden Edition of our School Magazine titled “THE MONARCH” the Magazine is named after the Holy Child Jesus who is the ‘Little Monarch’ of our School.

More so, our Maiden “YEAR BOOK” was also unveiled in the course of the celebration.

During the Joyful celebration of the Holy Mass, the 23 Graduands were equally Inducted into the Holy Child Past Students Association by Mrs Shirley Effiom who is a Past student as well as the School Administrator Sr Genevieve Ibedu, SHCJ, who is also a Past student of Holy Child College Marian Hill Calabar.

After the Mass, the Reception followed immediately at the same Venue.

There were numerous presentations by students and various awards of Excellence were presented to the students and parents. The students also presented an award to the Administrator Sr Genevieve Ibedu, SHCJ as their role model and for her hard work, dedication and innovations in the College.

The Holy Child College Family also presented a Prestigious Award of Excellence to the Province Leader Sr Helen Ebede for being an OUTSTANDING ICON AND AN AMAZING AND VISIONARY LEADER in the African Province!!all the SHCJs present received that award on behalf of the Province Leader.

Everyone one had a wonderful time especially the 70 new JSS1 students who joined the school community barely two weeks ago.

The newest HOPSANS had their thanksgiving at Mass the next day after which they had their Inaugural meeting and election of the Executive members.

Finally, the Graduands, Sisters, Parents, Staff and beloved learners of Holy Child College Asa expresses their sentiments of gratitude to all our SLT, PLT the American, European and African Provinces of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, all SHCJs, Benefactors and Benefactresses. Thank you dearest sisters for all you do each day to support our very own HCC Asa. We sincerely appreciate your untiring effort towards the growth of Holy Child College Asa. God bless you all.
