History was made on Monday; 3rd July, 2023 with the opening of the Centre for Renewal, Nise, Anambra Region, Nigeria. The ceremony began with Eucharistic celebration officiated by Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor, the Bishop of Awka Diocese.

Nise community were joined by Holy Child Sisters from neighboring communities, priests, religious and laity to celebrate this milestone.

It was indeed an epic ceremony being the first SHCJ-owned ministry in the Eastern part of Nigeria. The Youth Choir of St Felix’s Parish, Nise, sang beautifully well to the admiration of all and commendation by the Bishop.

Sr. Ogochukwu Ekwedike, the director of the Centre, thanked everyone present and gave a brief history of the Centre and details of the activities and programmes offered by the Centre. After the Mass, the Bishop, Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus, priests, religious gathered around the facility with Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor blessing the house and sprinkling of holy water within the building.

We are grateful to God for the beautiful weather granted to us throughout the ceremony. We pray that this place will truly be a Centre for renewal of mind, spirit and body for all who would use our facility.
