Our Lady of Nigeria Secondary School, Oghara, Delta State (OLNSS)
Amarachi Nnah, emerged as one of the Six Awardees of the Chris Ikomi Essay Competition, which took place last November throughout the state. There were 3,400 entries for the junior and senior categories, and Amarachi in JSS 2 made us proud. Sr. Clarence Uzogara accompanied her on this special occasion. Amara got lots of gifts and cash donations, the English teacher and the school were rewarded with literally books . To God be all the glory for His blessings.
For a week in March was OLNSS week of practicals, we made maximum use of the compulsory holiday. Students learnt how to make commercial ice cream, bake cake , meat pie, sewing and production of detergents – all undertaken by students guided by experts like Lady Cassandra.
Cardoso Catholic Community Foundation Project is run by Sisters of the Holy Child Jesus but owned by the Archdiocese of Lagos. It was founded as early as 1971 and is situated in St. Mar’s Parish Ajegunle Lagos. Cardoso Foundation is described as a mustard seed that has grown into a giant shrub today sheltering so many.
Early members of the SHCJ who worked here were Sr. Brennan, Sr. Uche Nwosu, Sr. Bernie Okure as well as Sr. Ngozi Eguh, who is back the second time as the Director of the Foundation. Their motto is Empowerment for life.
