The Cristo Rey New York High School (CRNYHS) community is excited to be back in session for another impactful school year. Our Mass of the Holy Spirit on September 5th at St. Cecilia’s Church provided a warm reunion for students and staff alike.

We are thrilled to kick off a new school year, marking our 21st year of service to the local community. This summer, we prepared for our incoming 361 students, including freshmen and transfer sophomores, who participated in our “Puente” program from July 8th to July 26th.

During these three weeks, students engaged in essential training for their Corporate Work Study job placements, receiving valuable lessons on career readiness, digital literacy, and workplace best practices. Meanwhile, our seniors dedicated time to crafting their college essays, ensuring they are ready for their next steps.

Looking ahead, our students are preparing for the Día de los Muertos Mass on November 1st, coinciding with All Saints Day. This Mass offers a meaningful opportunity for our community to remember and celebrate our loved ones who have passed. Every year, our students create their own “ofrenda” to honor these cherished lives.

As we reflect on the past few weeks of students returning to the classroom, we are inspired by the palpable school spirit that has filled our halls from day one. We can’t wait to see what this 2024-2025 school year has in store. Go Lions!
