Giving Thanks!

Each year I am increasingly in awe of this work the Sisters started so many years ago here in South Central Los Angeles. Their vision for our community resulted in an agency that has had a profound impact on a multitude of families. The passage of time only reinforces the importance of our work and my hope for its future.

South Central LAMP continuously seeks ways to engage the next generation in our efforts to maintain and build a stronger community in the service of women and children. Currently, we are in the process of developing a Strategic Plan for 2020-2025. Essential to the success of this planning process will be the launch of new initiatives/programs, expansion of our Board of Trustees, an increase in volunteers, and growth in philanthropic support and number of donors.

Already, one outgrowth of this planning process is a 5k run! South Central LAMP’s staff, trustees, and very enthusiastic fans will be running and walking for our children. A palpable excitement is in our midst as we anticipate this “first” for us. We hope, not only to raise much-needed funds, but equally important, to shed light on and raise awareness about our work. We are confident the broader community will respond by sharing our pride and hopes for the future.
