“Meet the Wants of the Age”

Cornelia Connelly established a religious community that is responsive to the needs of the time, or in her words, to “meet the wants of the age.” For almost 175 years, Holy Child Sisters have carried out the mission as teachers, spiritual leaders, health care professionals, lawyers, social workers, parish administrators, and pastoral care workers.
Today, Holy Child Sisters and their colleagues annually serve more than 15,000 people in the United States and Chile. The Sisters sponsor and/or co-sponsor ministries in the American Province that focus on education, social justice, and spirituality and healing, including:
