Society of the Holy Child Jesus Thanks Benefactors
From Coast to Coast on October 23
MA, PA, and OR Sites to Host Masses and Receptions
ROSEMONT, PA — The Sisters of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (SHCJ) live the Society’s maxim, Actions Not Words. Their actions impact the lives of people in the U.S., Africa, Latin America, and Europe and are made possible through the generosity of many supporters and benefactors. On Oct. 23, 2011, the Society will hold Trinity of Appreciation Masses in three locations, Rosemont, PA; Melrose, MA; and Portland OR, to honor those who have contributed their time, talent, and treasure to the Society. Bequests and gifts have allowed the Sisters to provide faith and opportunities for thousands through the many schools and ministries the Sisters have founded. Trinity of Appreciation Masses offer recognition and thanks to those who support the work of the SHCJ.
Trinity of Appreciation
According to Sister Mary Ann Buckley, SHCJ, American Province Leader, “This is a very special event. It allows us to show gratitude to our alums, Associates, and partners whose support is essential to continuing our Foundress Cornelia Connelly’s vision and the Holy Child mission. It is truly inspiring to see so many of our supporters at this event and to have the opportunity to thank them for their many contributions.”
The Trinity of Appreciation will begin with Masses in Portland, OR, Rosemont, PA, and Melrose, MA, followed by receptions in each location. During the receptions, the newest members of the Cornelian Society, those who have left a legacy gift (bequest, trust, or will) to the SHCJ, will be recognized in a pinning ceremony. Their gifts ensure that the love these individuals have for the Society will continue beyond their life span, while empowering the Society to continue Cornelia’s charge: “to meet the wants of the age.”
