The Friends of Winckley Square is a group that aims to inform and engage with others, sharing thoughts and memories of this unique and important heritage site in Preston, England. On the 8th and 9th of September, locales can join a ‘Former Residents’ walk, which features Society of the Holy Child Jesus founder Cornelia Connelly.
The Society spent more than 160 years in the community, educating children and ministering to those who needed it. Click here to read Celebrating SHCJ’s History in Preston.

Over the last year The Friends of Winckley Square have been running regular guided walks. Hundreds of people have been on the walks and we have had many requests to add more walks with a different focus. So for the very first time they will be offering three new guided walks along with the ‘Former Residents’ walk that has proved to be so popular, according to the group.
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture. Every year in September locations across the country open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history.
Everyone is welcome and you can just turn up but to be assured of a place book through Eventbrite or contact patricia@winckley.org.uk, t:01772 254395.
